Our client is experiencing consistent growth and has recently moved into a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility just south of Grand Rapids. With sales expected to continue increasing over the next 5 years it has become necessary to expand their engineering team with a MANUFACTURING ENGINEER who has a comprehensive understanding of GD&T, statistics, and root-cause problem solving in a CNC machining environment within the medical device field.
The ideal candidate for this career opportunity will have a BSME or relevant technical degree and 8+ years experience in a precision CNC machining environment with an excellent understanding of GD&T... including the design of effective machining processes using methods which maintain & protect critical and significant dimensions. A background working with titanium, platinum, stainless and engineering grade plastics in the medical or electronics field is NOT required but suely will be a plus. Additionally, the incumbent will need an appropriate statistical background to monitor and improve process capability, implement meaningful PFMEAs, control plans, and DOEs, and effectively reduce defects throughout the micro-machining operation. Six-Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
